Did you know that your previous JAMB profile code can still be used to register for this year's UTME? Here's a straightforward guide on how to do it correctly.
Fresh updates from JAMB today reveal a comprehensive guide for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates on generating their UTME profile code and acquiring the e-PIN, whether it's a new or previously used phone number.

Candidates who've registered for JAMB in the past can reuse their previous numbers for registration. However, it's important to note that the same candidate must use the phone number (not another candidate).
Contrary to what some UTME registration centers may have said, candidates can indeed use a previously used phone number/email to create a JAMB profile. A previous used number is a GSM telephone number (SIM) utilized for JAMB Profile Code creation, e-PIN vending, and registration in prior exercises.
This applies for the 2024 JAMB UTME Registration and MUST BE USED ONLY BY THE SAME CANDIDATE.
The catch is, if a candidate is using their previous number for the second or third time to purchase a UTME form, they will need to use the same profile code to purchase the new e-PIN.
For instance, if the previous UTME Profile Code has been forgotten, the candidate can send RESEND to 55019 and they'll receive the old Profile Code.
In essence, an old JAMB profile code can be reused by the same candidate to purchase a new e-PIN. This means there's no need for a new profile code.
However, it's crucial to remember that a candidate cannot alter names by sending CORRECT Surname Firstname Middlename on this existing number, as this Profile is already linked to the current phone number (typically done before Registration).
To retrieve your UTME ePIN post-purchase, simply send UTMEPIN to 55019 via SMS (for UTME candidates). For Direct Entry (DE) candidates, send DEPIN to 55019 after e-PIN purchase.
Candidates should note that after purchasing the ePIN, they can register at any approved and accredited JAMB CBT Center with the existing Profile (e-Mail, Telephone Number, Profile code) which cannot be changed.
Remember, the existing Profile or previously used number cannot be transferred to another candidate, it must be used by the same candidate.
USING A NEW NUMBER FOR PROFILE CODE CREATION
UTME candidates aiming to create a JAMB profile code with a never-before-used phone number can follow the standard Registration process as advertised.
It's crucial to note that candidates using a new Unique GSM number for JAMB profile code registration will be able to send CORRECT to 55019 in case of errors before using it for UTME Registration. Once you've used the profile code to register for JAMB, you won’t be able to correct any errors.
Candidates who may have misplaced their Profile code can retrieve the newly generated one by sending RESEND to 55019 via SMS.
Candidates can purchase the e-PIN from any accredited outlet using the newly generated Profile code as usual.
Again, remember that UTME candidates can get their ePIN by sending UTMEPIN to 55019, and for Direct Entry candidates, send DEPIN to 55019 after purchasing the e-PIN to retrieve the lost e-PIN.
